What This Page Is For

Wandermio is a personal travel blog published by Wandermio Press LLC, a registered West Virginia limited liability company in Charleston. Everything here is written for interest and for pleasure: a story about a place, a walk taken slowly, a morning that turned out well, and the photographs that came home with me. This page sets out plainly what that material is and what it is not, so nobody has to guess. It stands beside the Terms of Use rather than in place of them, since those carry the rules for the site as a whole.

Everything Here Is Informational

The stories describe what I saw, when I was there, and how a place felt on a particular day. They are observations, not instructions, and they carry no assurance that anything described will be true when you arrive. Timings, walking distances, opening days, seasons, transport patterns, and the general character of a neighborhood all shift. A road resurfaces, a market moves a block, a stairway closes for repair, a lane that was quiet on a Tuesday in April fills up by June. What you read here is a snapshot with a date on it, and the date matters as much as the words.

Reasonable care goes into every page. Names are checked, sequences of a day are reconstructed honestly, and nothing is invented to make a story tidier. Even so, no assurance is offered that a page is complete, current, or entirely without error, and none should be inferred from the care taken.

Conditions Change While You Travel

Travel is the one subject where information ages while you are reading it. A schedule holds until it does not. A season arrives early or late. A path along a coast is open in the morning and closed by afternoon because the weather turned. A place that keeps short hours in winter may keep none at all in a quiet month. None of that makes a story wrong; it makes it a story about one particular visit, told by one person.

Before you set out, check current details on the official pages of the operators, sites, museums, transport bodies, and municipalities involved, and check again close to your date if the trip depends on any one of them. Local notices posted at a station or a gate are more current than any website, including this one, and they should win any disagreement. Where a page here mentions how long a walk took or how a morning was arranged, treat that as one person's experience rather than a plan you can lift and rely on.

Judgment on the ground belongs to the traveler. Weather, terrain, footing, light, your own pace, and your own comfort are things only you can assess in the moment, and no description written months earlier and hundreds of miles away can do it for you. Turning around is always a reasonable choice, and no story here suggests otherwise.

Mentions Of Places Are Not Endorsements

Real cities, coastlines, neighborhoods, stations, streets, and public places appear throughout these pages, because a travel blog that named nothing would be no use to anyone. Naming a place is description, not endorsement. Naming one promises nothing: not that it suits you, not that it will be open when you arrive, not that it stands as it stood, and not that your morning there will look anything like mine.

Nobody pays to appear in these stories. No arrangement of that kind exists, none has been offered, and none would be accepted, because a page that could be bought would not be worth reading. Where a place is described warmly, that is because a morning there was good. Where a place is described plainly, that is because the morning was plain. Neither is a recommendation carrying any assurance behind it.

About The Photographs

The photographs are made for this blog. They are edited for color, contrast, and light the way any published travel photography is edited, and they are chosen because they hold the feeling of a place: the temperature of the light, the texture of a wall, the shape of a street early in the day. They are illustrative rather than documentary. A photograph on a story page should be read as an impression of a place and a mood, not as a record of a specific building, a specific address, a specific interior, or a specific object.

That distinction matters more than it may sound. Do not use an image here to identify a location, to judge the current state of a place, to confirm that something still stands, or to plan around a detail visible in the frame. Frames are composed, moments are selected, and light is fleeting by nature. Copyright in every photograph belongs to Wandermio Press LLC, and permission is requested in the manner the Terms of Use describe.

This Blog Books Nothing

Wandermio sells nothing and books nothing. It takes no payments, issues no tickets, arranges no stays or tours, holds no accounts, and has no affiliation with any airline, hotel, or booking platform. No page here is a booking page, no form here is an order form, and no message sent through the contact form creates any arrangement of any kind. The only thing this site ever asks for is an email address, and only if a reader chooses to join the list.

Any arrangement you make for a trip is between you and whoever provides it. Their terms apply to it, not these, and the company has no part in the arrangement, no ability to alter it, and no responsibility for how it turns out.

The Site Itself

These pages are put together carefully and served from a small setup, and even so a site can be slow, briefly unavailable, or interrupted while something is rebuilt. No assurance is offered that every page will load whenever you want it, that a photograph will always appear at full size, or that a story will stay at the same address forever. Where an address does change, the old one is pointed at the new one wherever that is practical. If a page is missing when you expect it, waiting a little and trying again solves the problem more often than not, and writing to the address below solves the rest.

Corrections Are Welcome

Mistakes happen, and the useful thing to do with one is fix it. If something here is out of date, misnamed, or plainly wrong, write to [email protected] with the page and the detail, and it will be checked and corrected where correction is due. Corrections that change the substance of a story are noted on the page rather than made silently, because a reader deserves to know when something moved. That is the honest version of keeping a blog current, and it is the version practiced here.

This site links to no other domain. Where a story mentions a public body, an operator, or an official source, the suggestion is that you look it up yourself, in your own browser, from an address you trust. Anything you find that way is governed by that source and by its own terms and privacy practices, over which the company has no control and for which it takes no responsibility.
