Terms of Use

The terms for reading Wandermio: what the blog is, how the writing and photographs may be used, copyright concerns, warranties, liability, and state law.

Updated: July 26, 2026

Reading This Site Means Accepting These Terms

Wandermio is published by Wandermio Press LLC, a registered West Virginia limited liability company at 1012 Kanawha Boulevard East, Suite 320, Charleston, WV 25301, United States. These terms form an agreement between that company and you as a reader, and they apply from the moment a page loads. Anything here that does not sit well with you has an easy answer: close the tab and go read something else. Continuing to read, sending a message through a form, or joining the reader list means the terms below apply to you. The date of the last revision sits at the head of the page.

What This Site Is

Wandermio is a travel blog. I write the stories, I take the photographs, and the whole of it lives at one address with no other property attached. It sells nothing. It books nothing. It takes no payments, holds no accounts, issues no tickets, arranges no stays or tours, and has no affiliation with any airline, hotel, or booking platform. There is no shop, no membership, no gated section, and no subscription that costs anything. Reading is the entire transaction, and the only thing ever asked of a reader is an email address, and only if they choose to join the list.

Because nothing is sold, several clauses you might expect are simply absent from this page. There is no refund policy, no delivery term, no order cancellation, and no billing dispute process, because none of those things can happen here.

Using The Site Fairly

Nearly everyone who reads a travel blog does so in exactly the way anyone would hope. These terms exist for the small number who do not. When using this site, please do not:

  • interfere with the site, the server that carries it, or the connections that reach it
  • attempt to reach any part of the site that is not published for readers
  • send anything through a form that is unlawful, harassing, deceptive, or designed to damage a system
  • send automated submissions, bulk mail, or messages that impersonate somebody else
  • copy the site or a substantial part of it in order to publish a competing version
  • present the writing or the photographs as your own work, anywhere, in any medium

Access may be limited or blocked where behavior of that kind appears, and doing so does not require notice.

What Belongs To The Company

Every word of the writing, every photograph, the layout, the illustrations, the typographic arrangement, and the site as a compiled whole belong to Wandermio Press LLC and are protected by copyright and related laws in the United States and elsewhere. The name Wandermio, the wordmark, and the route mark used with them belong to the company as well. Nothing on this site transfers ownership of any of it to a reader, and no license beyond the modest one described just below is granted by implication, by silence, or by the act of publishing.

Reading, saving a page for personal reference, and printing a story for your own use are all perfectly welcome. So is sending someone the address of a page. What is not welcome is republishing the material, whole or in part, as if it belonged to somebody else.

Quoting With Attribution

Short quotation for review, comment, teaching, or reporting is a normal part of how writing travels, and it is welcome here on straightforward conditions. Quote a modest passage rather than the substance of a story, name Wandermio as the source, name Ida Fenwick as the author, and print the address of the page the passage came from. Do not present a quotation in a way that changes its meaning or suggests that this blog endorses a product, a company, or a position.

Photographs are a separate matter and require written permission before any use, including use in a post, a video, a printed piece, or a presentation. A photograph is the part of this site that took the most work to make, and it is the part most often lifted without a thought. Permission requests go to [email protected] and are usually answered within the same week. Asking first is easier than everything that follows from not asking.

Scraping And Model Training

Automated collection of this site is not permitted. That includes crawling for republication, bulk downloading of pages or photographs, harvesting addresses from these pages, and any method of copying at machine speed for a purpose other than ordinary search indexing by a well-behaved search crawler that honors the site's stated rules.

Separately and specifically, the text and the photographs published here may not be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop machine learning systems, generative models, or any dataset assembled for those purposes, whether that use is commercial or academic. No permission of that kind is granted by publishing a page in public. If you want to discuss a use of this material in that direction, write to [email protected] and describe what you have in mind. Silence is not permission, and a technical ability to download something is not a right to keep it.

If you believe material published here infringes a copyright you hold or represent, write to the company and the matter will be looked into properly. Send the notice to [email protected], or by post to Wandermio Press LLC, 1012 Kanawha Boulevard East, Suite 320, Charleston, WV 25301, United States.

A notice that can actually be acted on carries:

  • your name, a postal address, a phone number, and an email address
  • a clear description of the work you say has been infringed, with a reference or a copy where one exists
  • the exact address of the page here that carries the material, precise enough to locate it
  • your good-faith statement that the use complained of carries no authorization from the owner, from an agent, or under law
  • your statement that everything written in the notice is correct, and that you either own the work or may speak for whoever does
  • your signature, physical or electronic

A notice carrying all of that is acknowledged and answered inside ten business days, measured against the office hours printed at the end. Material that appears to infringe is taken down while the question is examined, and the person who supplied it is told. A counter notice may be sent to the same address by anyone who believes material was removed in error, and it should identify the material, its former location, and the basis for the disagreement. Notices sent in bad faith are noted and ignored.

What You Send To The Desk

A message sent through the contact form, or a letter written directly, stays yours. Sending one lets the company read it, reply to it, hold the exchange for the period described in the Privacy Policy, and act on any correction inside it. Nothing more than that is taken from it. A reader letter is not published, quoted in a story, or shown to anyone else without asking the writer first, and the answer to that question is usually a short email rather than a formality.

Please send only material you have the right to send. Do not attach somebody else's photograph or writing, do not send anything confidential that belongs to another person or organization, and do not use a form to deliver an unsolicited pitch, a manuscript, or a proposal for paid placement, since nothing of that kind appears here. Unsolicited material of that sort is deleted without a reply.

Mentions Of Places Are Not Endorsements

Stories here name real cities, coastlines, neighborhoods, stations, and streets, because a travel blog that named nothing would be useless. A mention is a description of what a place felt like on a particular morning and nothing more. It is not an endorsement, a recommendation carrying any assurance, or a statement that a place will suit you, be open when you arrive, or be as it was when the photograph was taken. Nobody pays to appear in these pages, no arrangement of that kind exists, and none is sought. The Disclaimer sets this out at greater length.

No Warranties

The site and its contents come to you in whatever state they are in, and whenever they happen to be reachable. So far as the law permits, the company disclaims every warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose, of title, of accuracy, and of non-infringement. No promise is made that the site will be available without interruption, that every page will be accurate, that a described route or timing will match what you find, or that a file served here will be without defect. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, and where that is so, this paragraph applies as far as it lawfully can and no further.

Limits On Liability

As far as the law permits, neither Wandermio Press LLC nor Ida Fenwick carries liability for damages that are indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive in nature, whether they follow from using this site or from relying on something published here. That limit covers lost data, lost opportunities, wasted expenditure, and trips that did not go the way a story suggested they might. It applies whether a claim is framed in contract, in tort, or in any other theory, and whether or not the possibility of such damages was known in advance.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, the total liability of the company for all claims taken together is capped at one hundred dollars in United States currency. That cap reflects a plain reality: this is a small blog, nothing is charged for reading it, and the whole exchange amounts to a story on one side and a few minutes of attention on the other.

Indemnity

Where use of this site by you breaks these terms or the law, and a claim against the company follows, you agree to defend and indemnify Wandermio Press LLC, Ida Fenwick, and anyone acting for either, holding them harmless from the claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs that result. The company may take over the defense of any such matter if it chooses, and you agree to cooperate with it if that happens.

West Virginia Law And Where Disputes Are Heard

West Virginia law governs these terms and any disagreement growing out of them or out of the site, without regard to conflict of law principles that would send the question to the rules of another state. Exclusive jurisdiction belongs to the state and federal courts of Kanawha County, West Virginia, and both sides accept being heard in that place. Before anything of that kind begins, write to [email protected] and describe the problem. Most things that look like a dispute at first turn out to be a misunderstanding that a plain reply settles, and thirty days of ordinary correspondence is a fair thing to try first.

Changes To These Terms

These terms may be revised as the site changes. A revision takes effect when it appears on this page, and the date at the top moves at the same moment. Material changes are described in the text itself rather than slipped in quietly. Reading on once a revision has appeared puts the new version in force for you, so a look at this page every so often is a minute well spent.

If Part Of These Terms Fails

Should a court find a provision here unenforceable, that provision is trimmed only as far as needed to make it valid, or struck entirely where trimming cannot work, while the rest stays in force. Letting something pass once does not waive it for the future. Read together with the Disclaimer, with the browser storage inventory in the Cookie Policy, and with the Privacy Policy, these terms form the whole of the agreement about using this site.
